Lady rugby star at Shaw Ridge Primary School

Children from twelve schools across Swindon are being prepared for a tag rugby competition in October in a programme organised by Bath RFC and sponsored by Aviva.

England International Kim Oliver
Kim Oliver, who has 42 caps for England at fly half or centre, has been coaching Year 4s at Shaw Ridge Primary School over five sessions, ready for the tournament.
Teacher and rugby coach Ben Everitt said he was delighted to have her on board. “Year 4 is a very good level to attract children into club mini-rugby. It’s brilliant to be able to introduce a new sport to them and have a woman role model working with them, particularly somebody experienced at international level.”

Max Brown 8 brushed up on his passing with Kim Oliver
Max Brown, 8, who has played with Minety Minis since he was four said: “It’s a bit strange to be coached by somebody who plays for England. I think more children should try rugby.”
