UNBEATEN Town Ladies drop points against Exeter.
Swindon Town Ladies were forced to settle for a point in their FA Premier League Division One South West clash with Exeter on Sunday, after the Grecians scored a last gasp equalizer to secure a 2-2 draw.
Town made the better start to the game and they got their just rewards with five minutes played, Sarah Uzzell was allowed plenty of space in which to get her cross in with Ellie Maynard on hand to slot home.
Maynard went close to a second as her free-kick clipped the crossbar, whilst at the other end Chenise Austen got back just in time to hack off the line to prevent Helen Kukor from leveling things up.
However, eight minutes before the break, Exeter did haul themselves level after Kukor split the Town defence wide open, allowing Natasha Knapman plenty of room to run into before finishing with aplomb.
Meg Vella had the ball in the back of the net twice for Swindon, but on both occasions the offside flag was up, whilst Meg Attenborough rattled the post as the hosts dominated proceedings.
With the game heading for a draw, Beth Thompson had seemingly snatched all three points for Town after she cut-in before rifling home, but Swindon failed to play to the final whistle as Courtney Butt burst clear to prod home a last gasp equalizer to ensure Exeter went back to Devon with a share of the spoils.
