Edenborough super goal not enough to stops Woods
Swindon Supermarine suffered late heartbreak last night as they conceded in the final minute of their 3-2 home loss to Shortwood United.
The night had started so positively when Ash Edenborough thundered a scissor kick super goal in off the bar to give his side the lead but they were soon pegged back when Ross Langworthy levelled things up.
Marine were 2-1 down before the break when a mix up in the box and a goalmouth scramble led to Sam Avery scoring a second for United but it looked as if Josh Parsons had secured a point after heading in Jake Johns’ cross.
However, there was to be a late sting in the tail when Sean Lawson fired home the late equaliser from the edge of the box after a long throw wasn’t cleared.
Manager Dave Webb noted some improvement from his side’s last home outing, a 4-2 defeat to Didcot, but was left frustrated by some sloppy defending.
