Town notch up pre-season win number two at Marine. Swindon Town’s preparations for the upcoming League One season continued with a second win over non-league opposition in as many days. First half strikes from Michael Smith and Massimo Luongo and a late goal from trialist Khalil Lambin saw Mark Cooper’s men beat near neighbours Swindon Supermarine 3-0 at the Webbswood Stadium.

Town, who beat Marine’s Southern League rivals Yate Town 2-0 on Friday night, fielded a near full-strength line-up in the first half before shuffling the pack for the second period, with a host of trialists bidding to impress Cooper and first-choice goalkeeper Wes Foderingham playing the full 90 minutes. Smith’s close-range strike and Luongo’s classy side-foot finish put Town well on their way to victory, with Ivorian striker Lambin taking advantage of a mix-up in the home defence to score Swindon’s third late on.
